Japanese Maru Tantō in Natural Wood
Availability: 4 in stock
SKU: TAN-005This tantō (短刀), of maru construction (丸, forged from a single piece of steel), is presented in a decorative version, without a true edge ("Lame: Non tranchante"), with a varnished natural wood scabbard that reveals the wood grain. A detail that stands out is unusual in the catalogue: the guard and the fittings of the handle have a dark green/turquoise finish, instead of the more common gold or dark tones. The cord at the mouth of the scabbard is longer than usual, intended for tying it or wearing it over a shoulder.
