Replica of the PPSh-41, short for "Pistolet-Pulemyot Shpagina" (Shpagin's submachine gun), the submachine gun designed by Georgy Shpagin as a cheaper and simpler-to-manufacture alternative to the earlier PPD-40. It fired 7.62×25mm Tokarev ammunition from an open bolt, with a rate of fire of about 900 rounds per minute, and could use either a 71-round drum magazine or a 35-round curved magazine. Its hinged receiver facilitated disassembly and cleaning. Robust and reliable, it was one of the main light weapons of the Soviet Army in World War II, with around six million units manufactured, and became a symbol of the Soviet victory. German soldiers valued it so much that they often used captured ones, and it continued to see service in the Korean War.
