The dagger was the inseparable companion of the sword for the medieval knight: a short sidearm, always at the waist, useful both in close combat and in daily life in the camp. This piece recreates a Templar-style dagger from the time of the Crusades (12th-13th centuries) and bears on its pommel the red cross on a white background, the emblem of the Order of the Temple, a military order founded around 1120 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land and dissolved in 1312. Its silhouette reproduces, in miniature, that of a knight's sword of the period: a crossguard, a disc pommel, and a straight, double-edged blade, matching the Templar swords in the catalogue.
