SKU: PIC-003Flintlock pistols could only fire once before needing to be muzzle-loaded with gunpowder, bullet, and wad—impossible in the heat of battle. One solution devised by 18th-century gunsmiths was to mount several barrels on a rotating block: after each shot, the shooter rotated the block to position the next barrel in front of the lock and fired again, without reloading.
This reproduction of an 18th-century French pistol features a rotating block of four barrels in metallic gray with engravings, brass-tone fittings, and a decorated imitation ivory grip. It measures 30.5 cm and weighs 1,159 g. Its mechanism replicates the loading and firing motions, although it does not fire.
